GREETINGS! My name is Chin Fah Shin. Welcome to my website. I am a Chinese Malaysian, aged 53 at the time of this writing, living with my family in Kuala Lumpur. Due to a health condition, I have retired from full-time employment and now work at home as a freelance writer. You can see examples of my writing at this website UP CLOSE with NATURE
     Although I have used a camera since my school days, it was not until the early 1980s, after acquiring the necessary equipment, that I took up nature close-up photography as a hobby... quite earnestly. There was a time in the mid-1980s when I was outdoor at nearly every opportunity I had, hunting for things to photograph. I focused mainly on butterflies (please see My Butterfly Gallery) but would also take photos of nearly everything else that I found interesting. Some of these photos have gone into the making of my first nature website Chin's Nature Corner.
     Since July 1999, my outdoor photography activities have been curtailed because of my health condition. My doctor has advised me not to go out in the sun. So now with time on my hands, I have set out to build this website, Gallery Malaysiana, with the aim of making it a showcase of nature close-up images from Malaysia.
     This website contains a selection of my best images from nearly 20 years of nature photography. You might already have seen some of them in my other nature websites. If you have any inquiry regarding reproduction rights to my photos, prices and terms & conditions, please contact me.
