About this site

I began building this site some time ago with the intention of displaying a wide selection of my photos, mostly close-up images of small creatures taken in nature. It is my goal to make this a site that will appeal to the nature lover as well as the photography enthusiast. Due to other priorities, I had to stop working on it for a while: I am now hopeful of finding the time to resume my effort. Yes, this site is still under construction, and I hope you will bear with me.
     Malaysia is tropical country rich in fauna and flora, and is a “happy hunting ground” for the nature photographer. With a few exceptions, the pictures you see here were taken in the field. Whenever and wherever possible, I prefer to photograph the subjects in their natural environment. Although some of the creatures featured here may have a range beyond Malaysia’s boundaries, they are nevertheless very much a part of the country’s natural heritage. Hence the title Gallery Malaysiana  for this website.
     You might have already seen some of the photos in my other nature websites but there will definitely be some “new” images here. Unlike my other websites, I have kept the descriptions here down to a minimum to try to achieve a visual rather than verbal emphasis. I hope this online picture gallery will be a feast for your eyes.
     This site has also been designed with the picture researcher in mind, or those looking for a particular type of image. Please note that I still hold hundreds of images which I am not able to place on this website. If you can’t find the image you want or if you have any inquiry please contact me.
